Dr. Mace to Conduct Guest Artist Residency at Butler University

Dr. Abigail Mace will complete a two-day guest artist residency at Butler University's School of Music, Mar. 1 - 2, 2016. Events will include a piano masterclass conducted by Dr. Mace and a solo concert of works by Scandinavian composers performed by Dr. Mace. Both events will be held in Eidson-Duckwall Recital Hall and are free and open to the public. Dr. Mace is a guest of Dr. Kate Boyd, Associate Professor of piano and Director of Piano Studies at Butler University.

Mace Teaches Piano Master Class at Lawrence Conservatory

On November 11, 2015, Dr. Mace taught a piano master class in the Lawrence University Memorial Chapel at Lawrence Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin. Students, Milau de Meij, Xiaoya Gao, Evangeline Werger, and Niel Krzeski performed works of Dvorak, Bach, and Chopin. Mace was a guest of Dr. Michael Mizrahi, piano professor at Lawrence Conservatory of Music.

Mace Joins Faculty at Interlochen Center for the Arts, Summer Arts Camp 2015

Dr. Abigail Mace joined the faculty as Instructor of Piano for the Summer 2015 season. Her studio included eight high school pianists. Dr. Mace taught weekly lessons, two master classes for the 50 students enrolled in piano, plus a six-week course tackling practicing, memorization, and performance anxiety entitled "The Fearless Pianist." One of her students, Gabe Bruner, won the concerto competition--the sole winner in the high school category among 15+ finalists on all instruments--and performed Beethoven's 3rd piano concerto with the Interlochen Philharmonic.

Dr. Abigail Mace taught a piano masterclass on the Robert M. Spire Series of Masterclasses and performed a solo recital during her guest artist residency at the University of Nebraska Omaha.

UW-Green Bay Music will present its first faculty recital of spring semester 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 in Fort Howard Hall at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts on campus, 2420 Nicolet Drive. The concert will feature Associate Prof. Eric Hansen on clarinet and Lecturer Abigail Mace on piano.

UW-Green Bay Music will present the year’s second 360° Thursdays lecture-concert event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 17) with a lecture, multi-media presentation and live performance by pianist and harpsichordist Abigail Mace.

Grad Student Awarded Fulbright

Doctoral student Abigail Mace was awarded a Netherland-America Foundation Fulbright Grant to study in The Hague during the 2010-11 academic year.
